Dunbar is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and administrating servers running Linux in a physical and virtualized environment. The Linux Systems Administrator will participate in diagnostics and troubleshooting of the OS and application environment. We are looking for someone who has strengths in scripting, system hardening, patching, and configuration management. This position will work Dunbar IT staff and reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The following are essential job accountabilities:
• Deploys and configures Linux servers
• Designs and maintains system configuration
• Designs and maintains server hardening
• Performs system patching
• Performs software installs
• Works with team members to maintain server hardware at local and remote facilities
• Prepares and maintains technical documentation
• Develops solutions to address IT issues and helps evaluate cost effectiveness
• Position requires participation in an after-hours, on-call rotation to service the data center and assist with incident handling.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a minimum of 6 years of IT experience as a Linux System Administrator
• Creates scripts (bash) for automated installations, kickstart and monitoring
• Experience with configuration management solutions such as Puppet and Ansible
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Apache Tomcat
• Experience with disk and file encryption
• Configure and maintain selinux, iptables, and syslog
• Setup linux systems for Active Directory authentication
• Solid understanding of DHCP and DNS
• Good problem solving skills and motivated
• Works very well in a team environment

Any of the following certifications would provide the candidate with a strong advantage:
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator
• Red Hat Certified Engineer
